2024 CSCC ROAD RALLY SEASON

 
Mountains to the Sea Results

Cascade’s 59th anniversary running of the Mountains to the Sea Road Rally on Saturday, Sept. 21, was a scenic tour-style rally (no traps) consisting of about 40 timed legs. The route was about 170 miles long, and it was designed to take about six and a half hours to complete.

Rallymasters Torm Kelsey-Green and Kasey Klaus provided a fun-to-drive rally titled The Long and Winding Road that started in Portland Saturday morning and traveled down the valley and over the Coast Range, following roads less traveled, to end in Seaside.

Congratulations to the top teams:

First overall and first in the SOP Class with 135 points – Alexander Castaneda and Eric Hanson
Second overall and first in the Novice Class with 140 points – Bill Kayser and Bjorn Freeman-Benson 
Third overall and second in the SOP Class with 141 points – David and JoAnn Gattman 
Third in the SOP class with 165 points – Lee Nielsen and Chuck Winkler
First in the Equipped Category with 206 points – Judy and Andy Stocker
Second in the Equipped Category with 212 points – Andy and Mercedes Lilienthal
Second in the Novice Class – Adam Gerken and Chris Linn
Third in the Novice Class – Anthony and Rachelle Ashley

Oct. 26 Ghouls Gambol Rally 

The Ghouls Gambol Rally is a fun drive on scenic country roads, through autumn-colored countryside. This easy TSD road rally takes about three hours to complete. 

Rallymasters Kerrie and Marcus Gattman take the rally north to Woodland to visit the Whalen Oaks Farm aka The Patch. Pick pumpkins, go for a hayride, explore the corn field maze or try pumpkin bowling. Visit vendor booths and enjoy photo opps on the farm.

Expect treats and maybe a trick or two on this fun Halloween outing. Prizes for top rally finishers and best decorated cars.

Rally School  - Start the season with a virtual review of TSD road rally rules and procedures on Friday evening. Then run a practice road rally on Saturday morning to test your driving skills and navigational knowledge.

Saturday Rally Series - Compete for Series awards. Best five of six finishes count toward Series points.  To be eligible to win a season award, run at least three Series events.

Mountains to the Sea - Enjoy a full-day tour-style rally, following a fun to drive scenic route, starting in Portland and ending at the Pacific Ocean (Seaside, OR).

Ghouls Gambol - Cascade's Halloween daytime road rally explores autumn-colored foothills and farmland along scenic country roads. This easy time-speed-distance road rally takes about three hours to complete, including a mid-rally break. Expect treats and maybe some tricks. Prizes for top rally finishers and best decorated cars.

Entry Fee:

All rallies except Mountains to the Sea:

$25 per car for CSCC members
$35 per car for non-members


Mountains to the Sea:

$60 per car for CSCC members
$85 per car for non-members


Save with a Series Pass. $150. Includes entry in Rally School and all six Saturday Series rallies. Register just once to enter all seven events. Run the same car number with the same start time at each rally. Available to CSCC members only. CSCC membership is available online.

Save more with a Season Ticket. $210 for a 9-event season ticket. Includes all benefits and events in the Series Pass, plus entry in Mountains to the Sea and Ghouls Gambol. Available to members only.  CSCC membership is available online.


2024 Cascade Geargrinders road rallies:

Cascade Geargrinders road rallies are beginner friendly time-speed-distance events, starting and ending in the Portland area. Rallies are about 100 miles long and take three to four hours to complete. First car starts at 10:01 a.m.

Online registration is required: MotorsportReg.com.

Entry requires a street-legal vehicle, a licensed and insured driver, a navigator, and a smart device (cell phone or tablet) running the Competitor Richta GPS Checkpoints app (app is free).

Rallies are conducted in accordance with the current Road Rally Rules.
